The aim of this course is to build a strong understanding of contemporary macroeconomics which explains the events in the international economy. Special emphasis will be put on the role of institutions as the key determinants of macroeconomic outcomes. By linking institutional design and macroeconomic performance, the particular attention will be paid to globalization as an engine of the market change, as well as risks and opportunities creator. 20h 5 Project

Introduction to International Business

The aim of this course is to provide an insight into the international trade and investment and the practice of firms operating across international borders. The internationalization of national economies and business operations, and other international aspects of society have become a major development in the late twentieth century and have triggered off processes which are likely to continue in the new millennium. The course will focus on the environment that have influenced the internationalization of business. There will be the strategies, development and design undertaken by international companies to respond to international pressures and challenges highlighted during the course. 20h 6 Project

The EU Institution

The aim of the course is to deliver the foundations of the EU institution phenomenon. The focus will be directed particularly toward the institutions like European Commission, Parliament, the Council of the EU. 20h 5 Project

Human Resource Management

The course includes a variety of activities such as making decisions on staffing needs, employment, recruitment, dealing with performance issues, etc. It also includes practical approaches to employee benefits and compensation, employee records and personnel policies. 20h 6 Project

Market Analysis

The course will focus on the most global businesses and their efforts on selling to wealthier world?s population. 20h 5 Project

Project Management Organisation

The course focuses on the problems of building and managing teams, undertaking projects and handling large budgets. 20h 6 Project

Ireland Economy and Society

Students will be able to discuss and debate contemporary Ireland. Why has Ireland become so successful in the last 10 years? Is it because of EU membership or in spite of it? What has been the effect on the wider population? What has been the effect of migration to Ireland? 16h 4 Oral exam

Management and Marketing

During this course students will master the areas of market environment such as: buyer behavior, market segmentation: targeting and positioning, global versus local marketing. 16h 6 Oral exam

Business Law

The course focuses on business law matters such as: Patents and Intellectual Property, land ownership, confidentiality, licenses and liability. 16h 5 Oral exam

Polish

The aim of this course is to offer students some basic knowledge of the Polish language so that they can cope with everyday life situations during their stay in Poland. 40h 3 Oral exam
